1950s EASY-POP Songs and Singers...on the verge of Rock 'n Roll
Never Look Back recorded by Doris Day introduced July 23, 1955 Orchestra conducted by Percy Faith

Doris Day portrayed 1920's torch singer Ruth Etting in the MGM film biography 'Love Me or Leave Me' in 1954.
Thirteen of the fifteen songs from 'Love Me or Leave Me' were classic
period pieces. However two songs were written specifically for the
film. Doris Day's touching recording of "Never Look Back", a melancholy song by Chilten Price, did not find a place on the music popularity charts...perhaps because the other original song "I'll Never Stop Loving You" (written by Sammy Cahn and Nicholas Brodzsky) was a top-twenty hit and an academy award nominee.
Quintessential Fifties lyric:
"Never look back, you might see the tears I'm trying to hide you might catch a glimpse of arms open wide still waiting for you"
